April 12, 2002 red dun mare
AQHA, FQHR, ABRA
Eligible for Gordyville Reining Breeders Cup,
Canadian Reining Breeders Classic
Bunny is athletic, willing, interested in pleasing, and quite affectionate. In 2006 she earned 3 AQHA Open Performance points in her only AQHA show and also brought home her first NRHA paycheck. With reining trainer Tim Papst in the saddle, she scored as high as 72 1/2. She is about 15 hands tall and really turns heads with her red dun coloring, light mane and tail, and all that chrome. At this point Bunny is probably an ideal horse for a youth or non pro rider. She has a good attitude and really does her best for her rider, has never offered to buck. In addition to a great stop, she has especially nice circles. Bunny has stood Champion and Reserve Champion in halter at FQHR shows--she is built beautifully as a performance horse. She is also bred to be a consistent broodmare whose pedigree should be welcome in any reining breeding program.

Bunny has had two years of reining training, starting with Van Luse, winner of the Limited Open and Intermediate Open divisions of both the 2003 Quarter Horse Congress and the 2003 National Reining Horse Association Futurity. After her eight months with Van, we decided to keep her closer to home. She has had no injuries, but has had time off for good behavior (3 months because she was getting ahead of her peers as a 2 year old) and growth spurts (6 months), so she was not able to stay on the futurity track. Though that was disappointing, we were glad to have her training delayed because we think it will contribute to her soundness long term. She is now ready to go to work as a reining competitor.

Bunny has been introduced to cattle and has some aptitude for it. She also had a month of daily showmanship, for which we think she is adequately vain!

Bunny's dam, Two T Bobbie Socks, is an own daughter of famed reining sire Easter Gentleman and out of a daughter of Dick Badger. She's an NRHA money-earning reiner as well as a proven broodmare who has produced NRHA money-earning foals. Two of Bobbie's foals sold to Europe. We purchased Bobbie in foal to Master Cowboy Jac, son of and replacement sire for the renowned Hollywood Jac 86, one of the greatest reiners and reining sires in history. So this handsome red dun mare is the granddaughter of both of these outstanding reining sires, Easter Gentleman and Hollywood Jac 86, making her double bred Easter King. Quite a performance pedigree!

In October 2006 another daughter of Master Cowboy Jac, BR Sheza Cameo Jac, grabbed headlines by placing second in the Open Division of the Quarter Horse Congress reining futurity, winning over $17,000 with a composite score of 225.5. She was ridden by Shawn Flarida and had quite a season.

Other siblings of Cowboys Easter Bunny we have for sale are: Hancock Gentleman (2003 sorrel gelding--Don Wrede x Two T Bobbie Socks), Cowboys Easter Chick (2005 palomino filly--Master Cowboy Jac x Two T Easter Monday), and Megas Easter Bonnet (2006 sorrel filly--Marthas Mega Jac x Two T Bobbie Socks).
