When we purchased Carousel Music as an eight year old, our pedigree consultant said it made her want to check the pedigree of every backyard horse in Michigan! There's a rather amazing story of how we came together, but it just keeps getting better. We discovered that her dam earned 119 AQHA performance points and her sire, Mr Poco Music, was an AQHA Champion (lots of Halter and Performance points) in the 70's who made his greatest contribution as a brood mare sire. His daughters are highly respected for the foals they produce. One of them has had foals that sold for $60,000 and $80,000 at two years’ old. |

Carousel Music herself was alpha mare for a group of about 40 horses in her last stable, and has maintained that status here on our farm. One of her most outstanding features is her beautiful movement. An equine artist and dressage enthusiast I met had wanted her as a dressage mount, and a trainer told us she has the best trot she'd ever ridden. You might overlook her at first glance, but the moment she starts to move she's the classiest horse in the pasture, and that's with some pretty stiff competition!

"Sugarfoot" recently foaled a 2002 colt by Me Bad Max, who was the third stallion in the history of the AQHA to be awarded the AQHA Superior All Around award, which he earned in 1995. This baby starts out with an amazing show heritage and a marvelous foundation pedigree.
Carousel Music has had two foals sired by Buck N Badger, a finished reiner and one of the highest percentage Hancock studs in the world, with a good dose of Grey Badger blood as well. Her first foal, Miss Melody Hancock, was a little clone of herself. Her second foal, Mr BeBop Hancock, favors his sire, Buck N Badger. BeBop has sold to buyer in Hawaii who plans to train him as a reiner and stand him at stud to help populate the Hawaiian islands with some great foundation QH blood!
